This truly wonderful Vintage California Original Ceramics Clown On Elephant Cookie Jar will add whimsy to your kitchen with its happy, smiling clown sitting on a rounded pink eared and blue eyed elephant. Brown stained ceramic cookie jar with yellow, blue, pink, red, black and white paint. Clown with yellow top hat and large bow tie comprises the lid and the elephant makes up the base. A wonderful place to store your cookies and treats. Circa 1950’s. Impressed 896 USA on bottom of base. Measures approx. 14” tall
Condition: Very good for age. No cracks or chips noticed. Paint loss and wear around inside rim of base, not noticeable with lid on. Most noticably, the white paint is flaking and some places missing. Other colors are good. Normal crazing to the inside glaze of base, other crazing may exist but not noticed. A “dent” on back of lid from manufacturing process. Please review all pictures carefully. You should expect wear with these second hand / vintage items to be commensurate with their age.
